Course Overview

Learning Outcomes

• Understanding of personal protective equipment principles: The PPE program covers the principles and practices of personal protective equipment, including the importance of using PPE to protect workers from workplace hazards.
• Knowledge of PPE regulations and standards: The program covers the latest OSHA regulations and industry best practices in PPE, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the field.
• Ability to identify and assess PPE needs: Upon completion of the program, you will have the skills to identify potential PPE needs in the workplace and assess their level of risk.
• Understanding of PPE selection, use, and maintenance: The program covers the principles and practices of PPE selection, use, and maintenance, including how to choose the appropriate PPE for each task and ensure that it is used and maintained properly.
• Knowledge of PPE training and education: The program covers the importance of training and educating employees on the proper use of PPE, including how to develop and deliver effective PPE training programs.

Mode of Delivery

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Course Content

Training should emphasize on the following contents;

• Introduction to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Definition and types of PPE, OSH laws and regulations related to PPE, and importance of PPE in the workplace.
• Identifying PPE Needs: Assessing the hazards in the workplace, identifying PPE required to control those hazards, and evaluating the effectiveness of existing PPE.
• PPE Selection and Use: Choosing the appropriate PPE for the job, proper use, care and maintenance of PPE, and understanding the limitations and potential hazards of PPE.
• PPE Training and Communication: Communicating PPE requirements to employees, providing training on the proper use, care and maintenance of PPE, and communicating the hazards and risks associated with not using PPE.
• PPE Inspection and Audit: Conduct regular PPE inspections, identifying PPE that is damaged, worn or expired, implementing corrective actions, and tracking progress.
• PPE Emergency Preparedness and Response:Developing emergency response plans,identifying potential hazards and emergency scenarios, and training employees on emergency response procedures.

Entry Requirements

Program Duration

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

Examination

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
