Course Overview
The course on ""Managing Safety and Health - General Industry"" by the American Institute of Safety Professionals aims to provide managers, supervisors, and safety practitioners with skills and knowledge needed to develop, implement, and sustain cost-effective occupational safety and health programs related to general industry under OSHA Regulations (29 CFR 1910 Subparts C, D, E, and Z) . Learners are trained to recognize hazards, assess the risks, and introduce injury, ill-health, and fatality preventive measures. There are employer responsibilities outlined, such as providing a safe workplace, ensuring safe maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment, and training employees with the fitting personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe job procedures. Learners are trained on the key concepts of compliance with safety regulations and the legislative framework governing safety and health on work activities regarding hazard communication, ergonomics, machine guarding, electricity, firefighting, emergencies, and safe movement and storage of worksite chemicals. The course also indicates the necessity of planning and executing periodic inspections, audits, and investigations of workplace incidents to determine underlying causes of incidents and define corrective actions. Participants are also trained to develop accountability, leadership, and employee engagement to sustain a safety culture that thrives on active reporting of unsafe conditions and compliance to continuous improvement best practices.
After finishing this course, participants will be able to understand and lead safety and health programs focusing on legality, balance hazard control, and workplace efficiency and employee safety in different industries.

Mode of Delivery
Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

- Safety Inspections, Audits, and Evaluations: The purpose and process of safety inspections, audits, and evaluations, how to conduct effective safety inspections and audits, use of inspection results to improve safety and health performance.
- Safety Training and Education: Developing and delivering effective safety and health training, strategies for promoting a culture of safety and health through education and awareness.
- Incident Investigation and Analysis: The importance of incident investigation in safety and health management, the process of incident investigation and analysis, Root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.

Program Duration
This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.
Examination
All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
