The course on ""Managing Safety and Health - General Industry"" by the American Institute of Safety Professionals aims to provide managers, supervisors, and safety practitioners with skills and knowledge needed to develop, implement, and sustain cost-effective occupational safety and health programs related to general industry under OSHA Regulations (29 CFR 1910 Subparts C, D, E, and Z) . Learners are trained to recognize hazards, assess the risks, and introduce injury, ill-health, and fatality preventive measures. There are employer responsibilities outlined, such as providing a safe workplace, ensuring safe maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment, and training employees with the fitting personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe job procedures. Learners are trained on the key concepts of compliance with safety regulations and the legislative framework governing safety and health on work activities regarding hazard communication, ergonomics, machine guarding, electricity, firefighting, emergencies, and safe movement and storage of worksite chemicals.     Entry Requirements
    This program follows global workplace health and safety standards, and is taught by industry experts. Successful students receive an American Institute of Safety Professionals accredited certificate which is recognized by several employers and regulatory bodies. Graduates receive a master certificate, course completion certificate (if applicable), an official transcript, a wallet card, and access to a professional safety network which promotes ongoing learning and career growth.
    Program Duration
    The program is designed to offer flexible online learning with a minimum instructional contact time of 8 hours. Most learners successfully complete the course within one month, allowing them to progress at their own pace while balancing professional commitments.
    Examination
    Candidates can take this exam through an assigned portal from the American Institute of Safety Professionals. A passing score is 70% or higher, and exam results are provided right after by email to the address provided. The exam is open-book, allowing candidates to validate their answers. Any candidates who do not pass have 1 month after their exam to go through the training materials and can take the exam 3 additional times.
