Course Overview
The Planning Workplace Emergencies course offered by the American Institute of Safety Professionals ultimate goal of teaching supervisors, managers, and safety professionals how to prepare and execute plans to train employees on OSHA Emergency Action Plan regulations (29 CFR 1910.38) and OSHA Emergency Plans for Employees (29 CFR 1926.35). The course enables participants to understand and evaluate possible workplace hazards, risks, and scenarios consisting of fires, chemical releases, natural disasters, medical emergencies, or security crises. The course prepares participants to understand an employer’s responsibility to prepare, implement, train, and communicate an Emergency Action Plan (EAP), appoint emergency personnel, and set evacuation procedures. The course provides attendees the opportunity to practice and enhance skills to execute workplace emergencies as drills, prepare integration plans for local emergency responding agencies, and set up alarms, warning devices, and emergency communication systems. The course continues to address the procedures of and for Employee Emergency Plans to cover: first aid, hazardous materials, continuity of operations, and all employees. The course stresses the employer’s requirements for OSHA emergency training (or drills), employee involvement, and the planning and constant revision of Emergency plans. After finishing this course, you will learn how to identify risks of emergencies, implement responsive steps, manage drills, and build a culture of readiness and responsibility. Employees will be prepared, risks are minimized, response times are rapid, and resilience is increased to protect life, property, compliance, and emergencies at work.

Mode of Delivery
Participants will receive online training through Microsoft Teams and LMS. Courses are offered by accredited broadcasters and backed by expert instruction and official study materials. All assessments are conducted online and successful participants are awarded certificates that are accepted internationally.

Graduates receive a master certificate, course completion certificate (if applicable), an official transcript, a wallet card, and access to a professional safety network which promotes ongoing learning and career growth.
Program Duration
The program is designed to offer flexible online learning with a minimum instructional contact time of 8 hours. Most learners successfully complete the course within one month, allowing them to progress at their own pace while balancing professional commitments.
Examination
Candidates can take this exam through an assigned portal from the American Institute of Safety Professionals. A passing score is 70% or higher, and exam results are provided right after by email to the address provided. The exam is open-book, allowing candidates to validate their answers. Any candidates who do not pass have 1 month after their exam to go through the training materials and can take the exam 3 additional times.
