The OSHA Focus Four - Fall Hazards course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of fall hazards in the workplace and best practices for preventing falls. Mode of Delivery
Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.
Course Content
Training should emphasize on the following contents;
- Introduction to OSHA Fall Hazards: Overview of OSHA Focus Four: Fall Hazards, the importance of fall protection in construction, OSHA regulations and standards related to fall hazards.
- Identifying Fall Hazards: Recognizing common fall hazards in construction, understanding the potential consequences of fall hazards, and assessing the risk of fall hazards in the workplace.
- Fall Protection Systems: Types of fall protection systems (e.g. guardrails, safety netting, personal fall arrest systems),proper selection, use, and maintenance of fall protection systems, understanding the limitations and capabilities of fall protection systems.
- Scaffolding Safety: Types of scaffolding (e.g. supported, suspended, aerial lifts), OSHA regulations and standards related to scaffolding, proper setup, use, and maintenance of scaffolding.
- Ladders and Stairways: OSHA regulations and standards related to ladders and stairways, proper use and maintenance of ladders and stairways, and understanding the limitations and capabilities of ladders and stairways.
- Training and Education: OSHA regulations and standards related to fall hazard training and education, employee training and education requirements, and supervisor training and education requirements.
- Fall Hazard Programs: Developing a fall hazard program, implementing a fall hazard program, and monitoring and evaluating a fall hazard program.
- Special Topics in Fall Hazards: Managing fall hazards in specific construction environments (e.g. high-rise buildings, underground construction), managing fall hazards for specific construction activities (e.g. demolition, roofing), managing fall hazards for specific populations (e.g. temporary workers, youth workers).
Entry Requirements
Program Duration
This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.
Examination
All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
