Course Overview
The Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) program created by the American Institute of Safety Professionals (AMIOSP) provides detailed training for safety professionals to be able to recognize, assess, and effectively manage workplace risks. This training is based on OSHA 29 CFR §1910.123–§1910.126 which describes the fundamentals of hazard recognition During dipping and coating operations. This training also describes practical applications in several different industries. Each participant is taught to systematically assess processes to identify risks that may be posed by flammable liquids, chemical vapors and possible exposure/ventilation limits. Basic definitions of dip tanks, vapor areas, autoignition temperature, and LFL are explained as well as the environmental and chemical conditions that create hazardous working conditions of concern to safety professionals. Students are taught a practical approach to OSHA requirements for tank construction, and ventilation/exposure control which will help them develop site specific, OSHA compliant, JHA. Other training is provided in engineering control, control of equipment authorizations, and PPE risk reduction for coating and dipping operations. Learners also engage in hazard ID, risk control and implementation, through practical exercises and case studies. Participants will be capable of performing JHA's accurately, ensuring implementation of OSHA standards, reducing workplace hazard risks, and building an active workplace safety culture.
Learning Outcomes
