The OSHA Recordkeeping course provides an overview of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) recordkeeping requirements for employers. This course covers the purpose of recordkeeping, which injuries and illnesses must be recorded, and how to complete the OSHA 300 Log and other forms.

Objectives:

  • Understanding of OSHA recordkeeping requirements: The program covers the recordkeeping requirements set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) related to workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Knowledge of OSHA's recordkeeping forms and procedures: The program covers the forms and procedures used by OSHA for recordkeeping, including the OSHA 300 Log and the OSHA 301 Incident Report.
  • Understanding of the importance of accurate recordkeeping: The program covers the importance of accurate recordkeeping for both employers and employees, including the role of recordkeeping in identifying and preventing workplace hazards.
  • Knowledge of the role of recordkeeping in OSHA inspections: The program covers the role of recordkeeping in OSHA inspections and the consequences for employers who fail to maintain accurate records.
  • Understanding of the relationship between recordkeeping and workers' compensation: The program covers the relationship between recordkeeping and workers' compensation, including how accurate recordkeeping can impact workers' compensation claims and benefits.

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Training should emphasize on the following contents;

  • Introduction to OSHA Recordkeeping: Overview of OSHA recordkeeping requirements in construction and industry, importance of maintaining accurate and complete OSHA records, understanding the role of OSHA recordkeeping in protecting worker safety and health.
  • OSHA Recordkeeping Requirements: Identifying the most relevant OSHA recordkeeping requirements related to worker safety and health, understanding the requirements for maintaining and submitting accurate records of workplace injuries and illnesses, understanding the procedures for posting OSHA notices, and inspecting the workplace.
  • Recording and Reporting Injuries and Illnesses: Understanding the procedures for reporting workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities, understanding the criteria for recording and reporting injuries and illnesses, understanding the importance of accurate and timely reporting.
  • OSHA Form 300, 300A and 301: Understanding the OSHA Form 300 (Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses), understanding the OSHA Form 300A (Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses), understanding the OSHA Form 301 (Injury and Illness Incident Report).
  • OSHA Recordkeeping Programs: Developing an OSHA recordkeeping program, implementing an OSHA recordkeeping program, monitoring and evaluating an OSHA recordkeeping program.
  • Special Topics in OSHA Recordkeeping:, Understanding specific OSHA recordkeeping requirements for particular industries (e.g. construction, manufacturing), understanding specific OSHA recordkeeping requirements for specific hazards (e.g. fall protection, hazardous materials), understanding OSHA whistleblower protection.

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
