This course is designed to educate construction industry managers, supervisors, and safety personnel on the principles and practices of effective safety and health management. The objective of the course is to reduce the risk of injury and illness in the workplace through increased knowledge of safety and health management strategies.

The course covers the following topics:

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

  • Introduction: Overview of the construction industry and its unique safety and health challenges, importance of safety and health management in construction, OSHA regulations and standards relevant to construction
  • Identifying and Assessing Hazards: Recognizing common construction hazards, including falls, electrical hazards, and equipment hazards, conducting job site inspections and hazard assessments, identifying and evaluating potential hazards in the design and planning stages of a project
  • Implementing and Maintaining Safety and Health Programs: Developing and implementing a safety and health program, including policies, procedures, and training, managing safety and health communication and employee involvement, maintaining records and documentation of safety and health activities
  • Managing Safety and Health for Specialty Operations: Safety and health considerations for specific construction operations, such as scaffolding, excavation, and demolition, managing safety and health for workers in confined spaces, safety and health for workers who may be exposed to hazardous materials
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Identifying and planning for potential emergency situations on construction sites, developing and implementing emergency response plans, training workers on emergency procedures
  • Managing Safety and Health in Global Construction: Understanding cultural differences and their impact on safety and health management, managing safety and health in cross-cultural teams, compliance with local and international safety and health regulations

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
