The Managing Onsite Traffic Safely course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of traffic safety in the workplace and best practices for managing it. This course is essential for those who are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment and ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and equipment.

Objectives:

  • To provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of traffic safety in the workplace
  • To teach participants how to identify and assess traffic hazards
  • To educate participants on the importance of employee training and traffic management plans
  • To explain the steps involved in developing and implementing a traffic management program
  • To demonstrate the use of equipment safeguards, such as traffic control devices and safety signage

  • Understanding of current safety regulations and standards: The CSSP program covers the latest OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and industry best practices in safety management.
  • Ability to identify and assess workplace hazards: Upon completion of the CSSP program, you will have the skills to identify potential hazards in the workplace and assess their level of risk.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems: The CSSP program covers the principles and practices of safety management systems, including how to develop, implement, and maintain them.
  • Leadership and communication skills: The CSSP program places a strong emphasis on leadership and communication skills, which are essential for effectively managing safety in the workplace.
  • Understanding of incident investigation and analysis: You will learn how to conduct effective investigations into workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Training should emphasize on the following contents;

  • Introduction to Onsite Traffic Safety: Overview of onsite traffic safety in construction, importance of managing onsite traffic safely, OSHA regulations and standards related to onsite traffic safety
  • Identifying Traffic Hazards: Recognizing common traffic hazards on construction sites (e.g. vehicles, pedestrians, equipment), understanding the potential consequences of traffic hazards, assessing the risk of traffic hazards on the construction site
  • Traffic Control Plans: Developing traffic control plans for construction sites, implementing traffic control plans, managing emergency situations related to traffic hazards
  • Training and Education: Providing training for employees and contractors on how to identify and control traffic hazards, promoting traffic safety culture and awareness, encouraging active participation in traffic safety management
  • Onsite Traffic Safety Standards: Understanding OSHA regulations and standards related to onsite traffic safety, compliance with OSHA regulations and standards related to onsite traffic safety, developing and implementing traffic safety policies and procedures
  • Onsite Traffic Safety Programs: Developing an onsite traffic safety program, implementing an onsite traffic safety program, monitoring and evaluating an onsite traffic safety program
  • Special Topics in Onsite Traffic Safety: Managing traffic hazards in specific construction environments (e.g. urban, rural), managing traffic hazards for specific construction activities (e.g. highway, bridge), managing traffic hazards for specific populations (e.g. temporary workers, youth workers)

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
