The Hazards Communication 29 CFR 1910.1200 course is designed to educate employees about the dangers associated with hazardous chemicals in the workplace. This OSHA-mandated training covers the requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard and provides information on the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Participants in the course will learn about:
The purpose and scope of the Hazard Communication Standard
The types of hazardous chemicals they may encounter in the workplace
The importance of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and labels for identifying hazardous chemicals
How to read and interpret chemical labels and MSDSs
The proper protective measures to take when working with hazardous chemicals
The steps to take in case of a chemical emergency

Understanding of hazards communication principles: The program covers the principles and practices of hazards communication, including the importance of providing workers with information about the hazards of chemicals and other substances they may be exposed to in the workplace.
Knowledge of hazards communication regulations and standards: The program covers the latest OSHA regulations and industry best practices in hazards communication, including 29 CFR 1910.1200, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the field.
Ability to develop and implement a hazards communication program: Upon completion of the program, you will have the skills to develop and implement a comprehensive hazards communication program, including the development of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and labeling of hazardous materials.
Understanding of the role of training and education in hazards communication: The program covers the importance of training and educating employees on hazards communication, including how to effectively communicate the hazards of chemicals and other substances in the workplace.
Knowledge of hazards communication recordkeeping requirements: The program covers the importance of maintaining accurate records of hazards communication programs and activities, including training records and MSDSs.

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Training should emphasize on the following contents;

Introduction to Hazards Communication: Overview of the hazards communication standard, the importance of hazard communication in the workplace.
Identifying and Evaluating Hazardous Chemicals: Characteristics of hazardous chemical, methods for identifying hazardous chemicals, evaluation of chemical hazards.
Labeling and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs): The requirements for labeling hazardous chemicals, the components of an MSDS, reading and interpreting MSDSs.
Employee Information and Training: Employee rights and responsibilities under the hazards communication standard, how employers must inform and train employees about hazardous chemicals, how to access and use hazard information.
Implementation and Compliance: Steps employers must take to implement a hazards communication program, how to comply with the standard, recordkeeping and documentation requirements.

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
