- Introduction to biological health hazards in construction, including the types of organisms and conditions that can cause illness or injury.
- Identifying common biological hazards on construction sites, such as mold, bacteria, and viruses.
- Implementing standard precautions to prevent exposure, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the proper disposal of contaminated materials.
- Understanding the requirements of OSHA's standard for exposure to bloodborne pathogens in construction, 29 CFR 1926.1030
- Proper procedures for handling and disposing of potentially contaminated materials, including sharps and biohazardous waste.
- The importance of proper hand hygiene and the use of hand sanitizers.
- Procedures for responding to and reporting exposure incidents, including the availability of post-exposure medical evaluation and follow-up.
- The importance of regular training and education on biological health hazards and exposure prevention.
- Understanding the importance of proper ventilation and air quality management in construction sites to prevent biological hazards
- Final assessment and certification.
