Course Overview

The OSHA Focus Four - Electrocution Hazards course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of electrocution hazards in the workplace and best practices for preventing them. This course is essential for those who are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment and ensuring the safety of employees.

• Understanding of struck-by hazards principles: The program covers the principles and practices of struck-by hazards in the workplace, including the importance of protecting workers from being struck by objects or equipment.
• Knowledge of struck-by hazards regulations and standards: The program covers the latest OSHA regulations and industry best practices in struck-by hazards, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the field.
• Ability to identify and assess struck-by hazards: Upon completion of the program, you will have the skills to identify potential struck-by hazards in the workplace and assess their level of risk.
• Understanding of struck-by hazard control measures and procedures: The program covers various control measures and procedures for reducing or eliminating struck-by hazards, including how to develop and implement effective struck-by hazard control programs.
• Knowledge of struck-by hazard training and education: The program covers the importance of training and educating employees on struck-by hazards, including how to develop and deliver effective struck-by hazard training programs.

Mode of Delivery

Training sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Team Meetings in an online format, or through LMS or face-to-face delivery. Invitations for the meeting will be distributed one day before the commencement of the training program. Training is either delivered by an accredited training provider or an affiliate training center.

Course Content

Training should emphasize on the following contents;

• Introduction to OSHA Electrocution Hazards: Overview of OSHA Focus Four: Electrocution Hazards, importance of preventing electrocution hazards in construction, OSHA regulations and standards related to electrocution hazards.
• Identifying Electrocution Hazards: Recognizing common electrocution hazards in construction, understanding the potential consequences of electrocution hazards, assessing the risk of electrocution hazards in the workplace.
• Electrocution Prevention: Types of hazards that can cause electrocution incidents (e.g. electrical equipment, power lines), safety practices and measures to prevent electrocution incidents, proper planning, design, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
• Electrical Safety: OSHA regulations and standards related to electrical safety, proper setup, use, and maintenance of electrical equipment, understanding the limitations and capabilities of electrical equipment.
• Training and Education: OSHA regulations and standards related to electrocution hazard training and education, employee training and education requirements, supervisor training and education requirements.
• Electrocution Hazard Programs: Developing an electrocution hazard program, implementing an electrocution hazard program, monitoring and evaluating an electrocution hazard program.
• Special Topics in Electrocution Hazards: Managing electrocution hazards in specific construction environments (e.g. urban, rural), managing electrocution hazards for specific construction activities (e.g. electrical installation, maintenance), managing electrocution hazards for specific populations (e.g. temporary workers, youth workers).

Entry Requirements

Program Duration

This course is designed to help you reach your goals at your own pace and on your schedule. Instructional contact time must be a minimum of 8 hours. Most students intend to complete their studies via online learning within 1 month.

Examination

All students must achieve a minimum 70% score to successfully pass the examination which shall be taken online through AISP assigned portal. After successful completion of the examination, students will get their results immediately on their registered emails. This is an open-book exam and students are permitted to use a separate browser window to review course content while taking the exam. If you do not pass the examination you may retake the examination. Students are allowed to take an exam three times within one month. During this time, students should review the course material to improve their understanding.
